Muslims In Kenya

About

Asalam alaikum warahmatullahi wabarakatuhu,

This blog intends to project a positive image of Islam in Kenya and invites dialogues with Muslim, Christian and Secular intellectual thinkers, policymakers and academics.

The East African governments, under the banner of the War on Terror, are currently working to present Islam as an ‘evil ideology’. Indeed at the heart of this campaign is to malign the Islamic ideology as an alternative to Western liberal capitalism that is widespread all over the world.

Because of this propaganda and aspects to the War on Terror, I intend with the help of other Muslim intellectuals, to work and develop a positive opinion about Islam in East Africa, as a belief, ideology and alternative to all humankind.

I intend also in this Blog, to cultivate a Muslim community that lives by Islam in thought and deed, adhering to the rules of Islam and preserving a strong Islamic identity.

The content of this Blog will present Islam as a comprehensive way of life that is capable of managing the affairs of state and society. Blog posters are free to express their views on political events and give analysis from an Islamic perspective.

This Blog is therefore to be proactive in disseminating the Islamic intellectual and political thoughts widely in Muslim societies so as to challenge the existing status quo that exists within the capitalist ideologies.

Although the initial idea behind creating this Blog was to provide Muslims with info and news about Muslims in Kenya and East Africa at-large. This Blog will also try to create an educational channel where Muslims will learn on issues relating to Usul of Deen and other sciences of Islam.

Also to be included is counter Christian Crusade dialogue to offer positive criticism about the Christian campaigns to suppress Islam in East Africa and the fallacies of the Christian religion.

I pray that Allah grant us with ithbaat in following only what is authentic and not to make us those who break the ranks of this noble Ummah.

Abu Nihla
